Brad's sausage and asparagus quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1 bunch asparagus, remove tough ends and chop 1" long
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • Garlic salt and black pepper
  • 8 LG eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup shaved parmesan
  • Steps

  • Add sausage, asparagus and seasoning to a fry pan. Fry until sausage is browned and asparagus is tender.
  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish. Drain sausage and put in dish. Top evenly with tomatoes, and cheeses.
  • Whisk milk and sour cream into eggs. Slowly whisk in flour and baking powder.
  • Pour over everything in baking dish. Shake to even out the liquid.
  • Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes. Until browned on top and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove and let cool 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy.

    Ingredients

  • 1 x 9” pie frozen pie crust
  • 2-4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 a small onion, chopped
  • 5 mushrooms, diced
  • 1 zucchini, chopped into cubes
  • 2 large handfuls kale, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 c shredded jack cheese
  • 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
  • Steps

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. While oven is heating cook zucchini, onion, mushrooms and kale in olive oil over medium heat until tender and cooked through. Remove veggies from heat and set aside.
  • Bake pie crust in preheated oven until firm, about 8 minutes. Remove crust from oven and set aside. Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, salt & pepper in a small bowl.
  • Spread 3/4 c jack cheese and 1/4 c cheddar in bottom of pie crust. Place veggie mixture on top of cheese and top with sliced tomatoes. Sprinkle the dried basil over top. Pour egg mixture into pie shell. Top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven til knife inserted in center comes out clean, about 45 minutes.
  • All done!
  • Veggie Quiche

  • 1 cup mixed veggies
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Cooking Spray
  • Steps

  • In a bowl combine : mixed veggies, onion, parsley flakes, garlic powder, black pepper and salt, mix well….. Change Change Change
  • In a separate bowl combine : Bisquick, shredded cheddar cheese, milk and eggs, mix all well…… Change Change Change
  • Combine veggie mix with Bisquick mix, stir well and pour into a 9 inch pie plate that has been sprayed with cooking spray….. Change Change Change
  • Bake in a 400 degree oven for 35-40 minutes, or until golden on top…..Let rest for 10 minutes before cutting……. Change Change Change

    Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups regular milk
  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1-16 ounce package frozen broccoli(chopped)
  • 1 package cubed ham (8 ounce)
  • 1 can (4 ounce) jalapeño peppers
  • Sprinkle Black Pepper
  • 2 cups shredded salsa verde cheese
  • Butter cooking spray
  • Salsa of your choice

  • In a large bowl combine: eggs, milk, Bisquick and Parmesan cheese…….Gently whisk together……. Change Change Change
  • Next add : broccoli, ham, jalapeño peppers and your sprinkle of black pepper…Stir well with a spoon…. Change Change Change
  • Now add your salsa verde cheese and mix all very well…… Change Change
  • Pour your mixture into a large greased casserole dish…..I also lightly sprayed the top of my quiche with the butter spray…. Change
  • Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour or until top is golden and middle is set….. Change Change

  • Asparagus, spring onion and feta quiche

    4 – 6 servings

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, packed grated
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese , grated
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 100 gm unsalted butter(cold) ,grated
  • 5 tbsp buttermilk,cold
  • Ingredients for the filling
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 & 1/2 cup spring onion( bulbs)
  • 11 bunch ( 400-450 gm approximately ) asparagus, cut into 1" pieces
  • 1 tsp Salt,divided
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder , divided
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp spring onion leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup feta ,crumbled
  • 8 eggs

  • For the pastry: In a bowl add all the ingredients for pastry except butter and buttermilk. Mix well. Change Change Change
  • Add the grated butter and using fingertips mix into the flour until a sand like consistency is reached.
  • Add cold buttermilk gently bring it together slightly. Tip into a clean, lightly floured surface.
  • Gently bring the dough together until it all comes together.
  • Flatten the dough into a disc.Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 190 degree
  • Gently roll out the dough and place in a greased 10″ pie/quiche pan.Use a fork to prick holes over the bottom of the pastry. Blind bake the pastry For 12 minutes. Remove to a cooling rack.
  • Fill with the quiche filling
  • For the filling : In a skillet melt butter. Add garlic and spring onion bulbs. Saute on medium heat till onions soften and start changing colour..
  • Add asparagus along with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper powder. Saute on low heat for 8- 10 minutes. Remove from heat and keep aside.
  • Place half the onion mixture in the pastry shell and spread evenly ;sprinkle half the crumbled feta on top. Spoon half the cream mixture over the feta. Repeat layer once more.
  • Bake in preheated oven @ 180 degree centigrade for 55 minutes to1 hour until set and a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  • Remove to a cooling rack and let col for 20 – 30 minutes before serving.
  • In a medium size mixing bowl add cream, spring onion leaves, parsley, nutmeg powder,1/2 tsp salt,1/2 tsp pepper powder and eggs. Whisk together using a balloon whisk until all the ingredients are well combined Change
