Turkish style lentil soup

Ingredients

4-6 servings

  • 500 gr. green lentil
  • 3 sp tomato sauce
  • Olive oil
  • 1 sp flour
  • Salt
  • Hot water
  • 1 onion
  • Steps

    30 mins

  • Put 1 sp of olive oil to pot. Chop the onions and let them turn into yellowish color. Add tomato sauce and stir. Wash the lentils and put into pot. Add enough water to cover lentils. Add some salt and cover the pot. Check after some time and add some water if needed. After 20 mins, mix 2 spoons of olive oil and 1 spoon of flour and add the soup. Let it boil 5 more mins.

    Ingredients

  • 1 cup washed lentil
  • 1/2 cup washed rice
  • 2 diced onions
  • 1 diced carrot
  • 4 cups broth
  • 2 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

  • Over medium heat add onions and cook for few minutes add split lentil and rice all the spices and cook for few minutes
  • Add the broth and hot water cook for 40 minutes you could leave it as is or you blend it in blander
  • You could served with slice lemon me personally I add one tablespoon of Greek yogurt on top with hot sauce enjoy

    Ingredients

  • 1 tbls olive oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 pc tomato
  • 1 pc zucchini (kusa)
  • 1 pc carrot
  • 1 cup lentil
  • Little bit squash
  • Pinch yellow powder
  • Pinch cummin powder
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Toppings: fried arabic bread and parsley
  • Steps

  • Cut all vegetables in small square.
  • In cooking bowl, put oil then add onion,tomato and all veges you cut. And then add lentil. Keep for a while before add 5 cups of water.
  • Keep in fire until cook then put in blender and blend it.
  • Put up the soup fried arabic bread and parley before serve.

    Ingredients

    8 to 10 serving

  • 1 pd of dry green lentils
  • 6-8 cups water
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 medium onion minced
  • 4 large garlic cloves minced
  • 2 carrots minced
  • 1 celery minced
  • 1 jalapeno minced
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 2 tsp liquid smoke
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 3 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp chicken bullion
  • Steps

  • Chop bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and saute until golden brown. Reserve 1/2 cup of onion from what you have already minced and set aside. Add remaining onion, carrots, celery and jalapeno to pot with bacon and grease and cook until translucent.
  • Grind the half cup of onion and 4 garlic to make a paste and add it to vegetables, saute for another two minutes.
  • Add water and seasonings. Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce and let simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Garnish with feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, peperoncini pepper and dill weed
